A world of opportunities or distractions… I am struggling with my time management these days. This has been such a chronic state of being that I am beginning to accept it as a personality trait more than a flaw.
I find that I am either hyper-focused on a task or flitting from one thought to the next. Recently, I have been away from my studio to study as a potter’s apprentice (glorified board toter & cart pusher), hunt for my watercolor pencils misplaced in our recent move, work two 1,000 piece puzzles, sew a dress, organize my storage closet (again!) and entertain family. How to balance these worthwhile activities with studio time has eluded me.
A wonderful quote by Joseph Campbell speaks to me: “We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” I have clung to this notion to maintain inner peace each time I feel my dreams are being delayed.
